Sunset at Peggy’s Cove

This image of Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse was the result of a bit of planning and persistence. An assignment for a photography course I was taking had me research a location based on a famous artist. As I knew we were planning a trip to Nova Scotia, this location felt like the perfect opportunity to put the assignment into practice.

Arriving at sunset, we sought out a small tide pool in the granite that gave us the reflection I had envisioned. The long exposure softened the Atlantic waves, while the clouds caught a warm yellow glow from the sinking sun. When I reviewed the photo, I was thrilled—it wasn’t just a pretty scene, it felt like an assignment come to life, a moment where planning, timing, and vision aligned.
