Here Comes the Sun

We had been staying near Tofino, but I couldn’t resist driving out to the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet for sunrise. It was still dark when I left, a light drizzle tapping on the windshield, and I wondered if the morning would be a washout. With a borrowed flashlight in hand, I found my way along the rocky trail, watching for lookout points through the trees.

Just as the sky began to open, the clouds shifted, and for a brief moment the sun pushed through, casting golden light across the islands and misty ridges. The waves rolled steadily against the rocks below, echoing the wild energy of the Pacific. Then, almost as quickly, the rain returned. It was one of those fleeting mornings where patience and luck meet—a reminder that sometimes the best rewards come from stepping into uncertainty..
