Shelter from the Storm

The same morning I ventured out on the Wild Pacific Trail, I came across this scene—dramatic clouds rolling in, the ocean restless below, and a single house perched on the rocks, looking out over it all. There was something striking about its placement, both vulnerable and steadfast, as the sky shifted from warm sunrise light to heavy storm clouds.

I paused for a long while, imagining what it must feel like to live in that house, watching the Pacific in all its moods—calm, wild, and everything in between. For me, it became the story of the morning: not just the beauty of land and sea, but the sense of shelter and resilience against the storm..
