Lac Beauvert

We were staying at Alpine Village in Jasper, just before the wildfire that would later change this landscape. We slipped out early that morning, drawn by the quiet promise of first light, and wandered down to Lac Beauvert. The air was still, cool, and untouched by the bustle of the day.
When we arrived, the lake was a mirror—its surface reflecting the deep greens of the forest and the warm alpenglow cresting the peaks. Randy quickly took a photo, knowing these moments are fleeting. It was a gift of stillness, one of those rare alignments where light, land, and timing converge.
Now, we can’t help but wonder what it looks like in the aftermath of fire. Has the view been altered, softened, or scarred? The photograph has become more than a memory of place; it’s a reminder of nature’s cycles of beauty and change, and of the fragile balance we’re always just passing through.
