Peggy’s Cove Sunrise

I arrived at Peggy’s Cove before dawn, hoping to photograph the lighthouse bathed in the first light of day. But as the sky brightened, I realized the sunrise wouldn’t line up the way I’d envisioned. Instead of leaving disappointed, I turned my attention to the rocky coastline and tidal pools behind me.

As the sun rose above the distant hills, it cast a warm golden glow across the granite boulders and quiet inlets, with the ocean mist drifting in the background. In that unexpected moment, I captured a scene more peaceful and alive than any lighthouse shot — proof that nature often has better plans than we do.

To capture this scene, I created a four-shot panorama. I set up my tripod for stability, then slowly panned across the view, taking four overlapping vertical shots to cover the entire stretch of rocky shoreline, tidal pools, and the rising sun. The panorama captures the full sweep of this peaceful morning at Peggy’s Cove.
