The morning at Bow Lake didn’t look promising — low clouds, flat light, the kind that makes you think twice about picking up the camera. But something about the stillness pulled us outside anyway.
As we stood there, the clouds slowly began to shift, and a soft light touched the peak across the water. The lake went completely still, giving us this perfect reflection and a sky that felt quietly dramatic — not flashy, but beautiful in a more subtle, moody way.
It was one of those mornings that remind us why we keep showing up, even when the conditions seem off. You never know when the scene in front of you is going to surprise you.
The image received a Gold Award from the Master Photographers International (MPI) and was listed as one of the Top 100 images in the 10th annual International Imaging Competition.
