Winter’s Breath — Emerald Lake Lodge, Yoho National Park
Winter’s Breath — The Sound of Solitude
About this Fine Art Print
Our short winter escape into Yoho National Park came with heavy snow, freezing rain, and a quiet focus on the road. By the time we crossed the footbridge onto the grounds of the historic Emerald Lake Lodge, a magnificent stillness had settled over the wilderness.
As the day faded, we walked out into the crisp, freezing mountain air to catch the fleeting, dramatic winter light. The sky hung heavy with storm clouds, creating a powerful, moody backdrop against the towering snow-covered peaks of the Canadian Rockies.
Nestled right on the edge of the partially frozen water, the warm, glowing interior lights of Cilantro on the Lake cast a perfect, glassy reflection across the ice and dark water. This striking contrast between the biting alpine cold and the inviting warmth of the cabin created a storybook scene that felt both timeless and fleeting.
